fell in love with flying in 1973, at Dillon Beach, and has flown in Northern California since. Brad was the Safety Officer for the Fellow Feathers of Fort Funston for two terms, and a FF member since the 70’s. Brad is an artist, welder, mechanic, and a savvy hang gliding engineer. He volunteered at Stratus in the ‘70’s.

Started flying hang gliders in the mid 70’s in the San Francisco Bay Area, and is still flying. An artist of many mediums, from clay to textiles, in the 1970’s Brian became the sailmaker and glider designer for Phantom Wing, Pacheco, CA. Brian has also been the sailmaker for Manta, Spectra, Highster, Halls Hawk in Berkeley, CA, and Stratus, which was based in an old schoolhouse in Montara, CA. Brian has been the glider mechanic for  Mission Soaring in Milpitas, CA for around 15 years.

Brad Martin
